MDCAT Conducting Body
PMC President Dr. Noshad Shaikh explains in an interview that PMDC bill is not approved yet and PMC is completely functional in Pakistan. As PMC is in action till now, so MDCAT Exam 2022 will be held at Provincial Level under the authority of Pakistan Medical Commission. The confusion about PMDC will be cleared within one or two months.

Reason of MDCAT 2022 Delay
So, If PMC is going to Conduct PMC MDCAT Exam 2022 at Provincial Level, then why MDCAT 2022 is delayed again. In the Interview, PMC President, Dr. Noshad Shaikh states that the flood situation in the whole country is in front of everyone. Pakistan is hitted by drastic and huge flood and it affects every kind of person including students. After the comprehensive talk with Federal, Sindh and Balochistan Governments, it is decided to delay PMC MDCAT 2022 so that all students have equal chance to secure seat in Medical University.
MDCAT Exam 2022 at Provincial Level
Federal Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel visited the PMC Office last week to discuss about the issues of MDCAT 2022. According to Dr. Noshad Shaikh, Federal Health Minister Abdul Qadir Patel forced PMC to conduct MDCAT 2022 Exam at Provincial Level despite of National Level. To make decision about Provincial MDCAT 2022 Exam, PMC is advised to met with the vice chancellors of all medical and dental universities of Pakistan. After meetings with different stakeholders, PMC decides to conduct MDCAT 2022 Exam at Provincial Level. Dr. Noshad Shaikh comprehensively explained that there will be 5 examination centers throughout the country and the PMC MDCAT 2022 Exam will be conducted by the help of universities in every province.

The Online MDCAT at National Level created a lot of issues and problems both for students and PMC Exam Committee; told PMC President. For MDCAT 2022, about 200,000 students are registered and it requires 30 to 35 days to conduct an online exam from such a huge number of students. There may be server issues, internet problems and devices issues that ultimately affect the system and transparency of MDCAT Exam. Dr. Noshad Shaikh tells that MDCAT 2022 is going to be held according to the traditional examination system. MDCAT 2022 will be held at Provincial Level and will be conducted physically. Like previous years, this year, carbon copy might also be provided to students after approval from committee.
MDCAT 2022 New Commencement Date
As MDCAT 2022 is going to be conducted at Provincial Level, so it is decided to hold single MDCAT 2022 on one day in whole country, so that no one can raise objections at PMC Exam Policy. Single MDCAT 2022 will reduce criticism from students side about fair merit. Due to worst flood situation in Sindh and Balochistan, there may be delayed MDCAT Exam. So, In Punjab and Federal, MDCAT Exam may be conducted before it is held in Sindh and Balochistan. But keep in mind that mdcat exam 2022 will be physical on a single day for respective provinces.
Although it is decided to conduct a single MDCAT 2022 Exam on one day, but final dates for the commencement of MDCAT 2022 are not announced yet. PMC President Dr. Noshad Shaikh said that MDCAT 2022 will be held in the first or second week of November 2022. In the meeting between PMC and Sindh Health Minister, it is proposed that MDCAT 2022 should be conducted in mid of November in whole country. The 13 November 2022 is the expected date of MDCAT Exam 2022 but this date is not final.
PMC is holding meetings with health ministers to decide about MDCAT 2022 Exam Date. MDCAT Exam 2022 Final Date will be announced sooner by Pakistan Medical Commission but PMC has open its registration portal from September 10, 2022 to September 25, 2022 for the flood affected students and 4 thousand new candidates are registered for MDCAT 2022 in this time period.

PMC MDCAT Passing Percentage
In the last years, Pakistan Medical Commission has approved the PMC Passing Percentage which was 65%. Due to higher passing percentage, a lot of students deprived of getting admission in Medical or Dental Universities. Due to the failure of large number of students, many seats remained vacant and more than 16000 students went China and Russia to get the MBBS degree and this cause financial problems for their families. Due to this also Pakistan has to suffer a big loss of about 15 billion dollars which damages Pakistan economically.
So, this year, PMC has devised a student friendly policy and reduced the MDCAT Passing Percentage for both MBBS and BDS. According to new policy, the MDCAT Passing Percentage for MBBS admission is 55% and for BDS admission is 45%. This provides an opportunity to students to study in the medical or dental universities of their own country.
Pattern and Syllabus of MDCAT Exam 2022
As many students have completed their preparation for MDCAT Exam 2022, so it is decided that there will be no change in pattern and syllabus of MDCAT Exam 2022. Pattern will be same as announced by PMC as well as syllabus for MDCAT 2022 will be same as uploaded on PMC website. Just MDCAT will be held physically on a single day at provincial level with same PMC MDCAT 2022 Syllabus and Pattern. Aggregate Formula for MBBS and BDS Admissions
Dr. Noshad Shaikh also mentioned the expected aggregate formula for MBBS and BDS Admissions. In the aggregate formula, the weightage of MDCAT is 50%. Also 40% FSC marks and 10% Matric marks are included to facilitate the students having brilliant results in Matric and FSC. It is proposed that some extra marks should be given to Hafiz-e-Quran students but this proposal is pending for approval.
